HPD violation removal
HPD violation removal, done to closed
Class A, B and C violations corrected by licensed trades, certified inside the window, and dismissed when they were wrong. We pull the record again afterward to prove it closed.

Every class, every route to closed
HPD closes a violation one of three ways: a certified correction, a dismissal inspection, or a court order. We use whichever is fastest for each item.
Class A, non-hazardous
- Missing signage, apartment numbers, minor paint and plaster
- 90-day correction window
- Certified in batches so nothing lingers
Class B, hazardous
- Leaks, mold, broken windows, defective doors and locks
- 30-day window; rent-impairing items first
- Photographed before and after, certified on eCertification
Class C, immediately hazardous
- No heat or hot water, lead paint, rodents, gas and electrical hazards
- 24-hour repair window; Emergency Repair Program charges avoided
- Lead clearance tests arranged with an EPA-certified firm
Dismissals and reinspections
- Violations issued in error, duplicated or already fixed
- Dismissal Request inspections batched to save fees
- Stale violations from previous owners cleaned off the record
How it works
From the record to a clean building
Pull the record
We run the free violation check and list every open HPD violation by class, deadline and rent-impairing status, plus the complaints behind them.
Fix it right
Licensed plumbers, electricians and lead-safe contractors do the work. Every repair is photographed and dated.
Certify inside the window
Corrections are certified on HPD eCertification with the dates and the trades named. Dismissal requests go in for anything that was wrong.
Prove it closed
A month later we pull HPD Online again and send you the before-and-after count.
Questions
HPD violation removal, answered
Correct the condition, then certify the correction to HPD in writing before the deadline. HPD does not come back to check on its own; the certification is what closes the violation. Class A violations give you 90 days, Class B 30 days and Class C 24 hours for the repair (lead paint and heat have their own rules). Late certifications are usually accepted but can keep the civil penalty on the table.
You can request a dismissal inspection. HPD sends an inspector, and if the condition is not found the violation is dismissed. There is a fee per request and a cap on how many violations one request covers, so we batch them.
Simple Class A and B items clear within days of the repair once the certification is accepted. Dismissal inspections depend on HPD scheduling, typically a few weeks. Lead-paint violations need a clearance test by an EPA-certified firm before certification.
Open Class C and rent-impairing violations show up in every title search and lender review, and a rent-impairing violation open more than six months lets a tenant withhold rent legally. Clearing them before a closing is routine for us.
A flat price per violation or per building, quoted after we pull the record. Repairs by licensed trades are quoted separately with the invoice attached. The violation report itself is free.
